Frequently Asked Questions

What is ARTC?
For twenty years, ARTC or the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company has been performing, recording, and broadcasting Audio Drama  -- fully dramatized, fully soundscaped audio drama, far beyond the readings and "audio books" you can find in every bookstore. www.artc.org

What is Audio Drama?
Audio Drama is an art-form popularized in the 1930s & 40s that creates a partnership between performers and audience in which the performers provide all the auditory stimuli (voices, sounds and effects) and the imagination of the audience does the rest. Similar to audio books, the Audio Drama is a fully soundscaped drama meaning it includes musical score and elaborate sound effects.  Audio is fully dramatized just like a play you would attend at the theatre, the only difference is the sets are in the mind of the audience. ARTC Blue Network is all about imagination.

Where does ARTC Blue Network perform?
ARTC Blue Network is a fully portable theatre company. We can perform anywhere within reason. We prefer a stage and require some electricity, but beyond that we have no restrictions on venue.

In what genre are your dramas set?
ARTC Blue Network performs shows in many genres including Science Fiction, Romance, Horror, Classic Literature, Histories and Mythology. If it has been written, we can adapt it. See show descriptions for a more complete explanation.
