Christmas. Christmas memories.
The Atlanta Radio Theatre Company presents selections from Thomas E. Fuller's "An Atlanta Christmas".
"An Atlanta Christmas" paints a vivid portrait of the season seen through Southern eyes, interspersing fiction with vignettes from the Author's life and family. Poignant and funny, "An Atlanta Christmas" will bring back memories of Christmas past. Join the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company on a journey through the soundscape as we present these Christmas memories. We provide the stories, the sound effects, the music, the voices...you and your imagination provide the rest. Come celebrate the Magic of Christmas with the Magic of Radio.
Featured selections may include: "The Tree Comes to Atlanta": Share in the puzzlement that gives way to wonder as a German tradition finds its way into an Atlanta home's parlor room for the first time. "Cut-out Christmas": They say it's the thought that counts. Sometimes the thought is all you can afford. And sometimes you discover it's all you need. "Santa Claus Blues": Kids tugging your beard, impossibly bubbly elf assistants, other assorted trials, and those moments that make it all worthwhile for a department store Santa. "Are You Lonely Tonight": Magical things can happen at the office Christmas party. And some of them don't involve the photocopier or a lampshade. "O Tanenbaum": Even amid the horror of World War I, the spirit of Christmas shines through and into the trenches. "The Ultimate Christmas Pageant": Grade-school Christmas pageants. Weren't they wonderful?
"An Atlanta Christmas" will be presented in 30 minute segments between the hours of 1:00pm and 6:00pm on Saturday December 14 and Sunday December 15 at Stone Mountain's Memorial Hall.
